demographic transition model
Out of the four stages of the demographic transition model, Germany can be put into the fourth stage. It is in this stage for a few reasons. Its birth and death rate are very low (8 per 1000 and 10 per 1000 respectively), this fact is a screaming indication that Germany has entered the fourth and final stage. What also goes along with this is that there is a higher percentage of old people (28%). Another reason is technological advances. 74% of the population lives in urban areas and statistics like 120 phone subscribers per 100 show that this is a fully developed country.
